While in college at Linfield College, McMinnville, Oregon, I often took day trips to the coast just to paint and photograph. The salty air and dense fog always added a sense of serenity to the day.
This particular trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon resulted in this depiction of the crashing waves on the rugged coast under the watchful eyes of the local seagulls.
Being born and raised in Henderson, NV., just outside Las Vegas, and from the time I was a small child, I wanted to become an artist, but I never dreamed it would turn out the way it has. As I love to hunt, fish and explore the out-of-doors, and include many experiences in the field as part of my fine art subject matter, I have come to appreciate what Mother Nature has so magnificently pieced together for us to enjoy on a daily basis.
