Waynesville Artist Craig T. Burgwardt Showing At Local Flavors

Waynesville, NC veteran artist, Craig T. Burgwardt, will be showing at this year's Local Flavors Art Show in conjunction with the Haywood County Arts Council. The show will be at Gallery 86 located at 86 N. Main Street, Waynesville, NC., and runs from February 4 – Saturday, March 29, 2014.

When Burgwardt creates a painting, he wants the viewer to feel the emotion and sense of being that he experienced ... he wants the viewer to be able to engage just as he did in the moment.

The artist defines it this way: “In my world, I paint what I experience. ”Just being there” is a phrase I’ve used to describe the time I spend in the outdoors since childhood. “I’m on a personal mission to share with others, my abilities as a true artist, not just a painter. I now have direction AND...

Waynesville, NC Veteran Artist To Contribute To Glen Haven, CO Flood Re-Building Efforts

Waynesville, NC veteran artist, Craig T. Burgwardt, will be contributing up to 25% of his profit from sales of his Colorado-based subject matter, fine art prints available on Fine Art America, to the rebuilding efforts in the small, mountain community of Glen Haven, Colorado, after Late September torrential rains and subsequent flooding leveled a majority of the structures in the area. He plans to continue this effort until the end of 2014, and then re-visit the outcome.

Burgwardt spent summers there as a child while vacationing with his family and visiting his Aunt and Uncle. He eventually moved to Estes Park, which is just up the canyon, and lived there for 17 years doing what he enjoyed, hunting, fishing and painting Mother Nature's wonders in oils and acrylics.

He is friends with many of the local residents, and knows that many of them are still without easy access to their property. The road to total recovery will be long and hard-fought, but hopes that his...
